A Thank You to Jack

RAVENSWOOD, WV — On the evening of June 5, 2018, our friend and coworker Jack Lee Fetty passed away suddenly in his home.

Jack celebrated his 14th work anniversary days before his passing. He joined Star Plastics on June 3, 2004 as a production associate. Since then, he worked in a variety of positions doing a multitude of tasks–from working the docks to delivering samples to local customers. “Jack did just about anything that was asked of him,” said HR generalist and friend Tresa Shafer. Tresa described Jack by his helpful and hardworking attitude: “We always called him our Jack of all trades. He carried positive energy around Star Plastics, and put smiles on anyone’s face he came into contact with.”

Aside from work, Jack was a husband, father, brother, and son. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda Boggess Fetty, his daughter Alison (who just graduated high school), two sisters, and his mother. Jack was a volunteer firefighter for 25 years with multiple local fire departments, an avid hunter and golfer, and a NASCAR enthusiast.

Over the past couple years, Jack had battled ongoing health issues that caused him to have time away from work; but he’d fight his way back to rejoin the Star team. Director of Business Development Luke Schindler commented, “He was always looking out for the betterment of the company,” and when it came to new employees, he would “take the time to steer new people in the right direction. He was professional in his work and always made sure the job was done right, whatever the task.”

The Star Plastics family valued Jack Fetty and all that he brought to the company, and we thank him for his contributions and friendship. He will be dearly missed.
